Welcome to Rite Directions at Rite Directions Young People Services, we believe everyone should have the opportunity to live a healthy, active and fulfilling life, regardless of their background or disability. The aim of our homes is to provide a safe and stimulating environment for young people moving into adult and independent living.
Our dedicated staff team support and encourage young people to achieve positive outcomes in their lives.
Rite Directions intervention centre offers a specialist crisis intervention service whereby we can act quickly and effectively to turn a crisis situation into a positive experience by working with the young person to distract them from their outside influences, negative thought patterns and behaviours. Our goal is to stabilise young people who are struggling to cope.
We can do this by offering a programme which is physically challenging, and can include outdoor activities, Activity Centred education or time away from life’s trials and tribulations at a slower pace.
On completing the programme, the young people’s levels of self-esteem, confidence and positive outlook has shown to improve. Achieving things they never thought were possible, managing risks and developing new skills gives the young people a sense of hope for the future.
Our home offers high staff ratios of one to one or two to one and young people spend most or all of the time cared for separately to other young people. We understand that people can feel isolated and lonely if they are on their own, so were safe to do so we can arrange for young people to take part in some activities together once a full risk assessment has been done. This all helps with the transition process of moving back home and into the community after the programme has finished.
This service is available twenty four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week, and fifty two (52) weeks a year and provides short and long term Residential Placements for young people who may be unable or unwilling to live in their own community or other supported environments.
The fundamental aim of Rite Directions is to provide a nurturing, yet challenging environment, where young people can feel safe, comfortable, valued and given opportunities to build self-esteem and self-respect, whilst restoring their trust in others.
At Rite Directions, the needs of our young people are paramount and we will provide a high standard of care in an environment that celebrates cultural diversity and promotes equality of opportunity, enabling our young people to feel valued and empowered.
Rite Direction has devoted considerable time in planning the homes as they believe there is a great need for more small homes for young people in the care of Local Authorities.
This type of small setting enables these young people to receive a higher level of care, attention, and develop a range of skills and knowledge in an environment that is supportive and empowering.
